I think I'm subconsciously moving through all the major 'style tribes' right now, or something like that. Today is the modern bohemian. Gone are the layers of fringe, suede, and feathers and in come colorful layers of band t-shirts, cool sunglasses, and flowers that are far from the Halloween party store's synthetic fabric 'Hippie costumes'. The new kind of boho is styled more towards a person's likes rather than an army of wannabe Vanessa Hudgens'. It's colorful, expressive, and would be comfortable outside, riding a bike, listening to music, at school, or while hunched over a computer (currently me). It's commonly found at summer music festivals, outside, or by a campfire.
Some essentials to this look are classic florals on dresses, shirts, shorts, jewelry, or in hair. Darker color schemes lend a more ethereal creepiness to this otherwise dreamy look.
Artfully layered jewelry is another big one. I'm usually a minimalist when it comes to jewelry, so I'm challenging myself with learning the perfect mix and match that pro bohos have already mastered. Gold, silver, copper, wood, or otherwise- make sure they come in the same basic color families, and the lengths aren't all the same. Either go palette specific, all metal, or full blown rainbow: all look pretty cool.
Cool sunglasses in any shape, natural makeup, and awesome hair are the best ways to accesorie, otherwise it's totally up to you!
