I don't like the word grunge. However much of a thing it was, it's just a weird sounding word that I don't like to say. Like the word 'rural'. I just don't like it.
All the same, I really do like that era of style. After the neons, power dressing, abstract earrings, etc. of the 80's, a definitely more casual and relaxed style emerged. It was wearing flannels, boots, and ripped jeans. It was from bands like Nirvana, which inspired designers like Marc Jacobs, which caught onto people like all teens of the time.
Flannels.
Relaxed, warm, plentiful in Goodwills everywhere- they're perfect!
2. Boots- cool shoes in general- whether it be lace up combats or dirty converse. Nothing to nice or polished.
3. Graphic t-shirts- Come on. We all have these. Those old t-shirts of our favorite tv show, band, or an old sweater with some snarky meme on it. Saying something for the world to hear is a the core of grunge style
There's more. But here are just some more images for you to take inspiration from.
