Here's a tricky topic: how feminism relates to boys and girls. I was reading this great interview on stepping up and activism with Rebecca Walker in the book Unbored and a lot of what she had to say was directed towards everybody, not just girls.
That's one of the coolest thing I think there is about feminism and other activist pursuits. It's not just for one kind of person. It's all about supporting equality and it itself is supported by equality; men and women treating each other fairly. Most of the time feminists are thought of as man hating girls who don't care about what they look like and will personally tell you why you are a horrible person if you disagree with them. But folks, that is simply not true! (Deb from WTNV) I think that since the feminist goal is not to be better than men but put on the same level of respect then it shouldn't be limited strictly to girls. What if guys want women to be treated equally too? Most of them do as far as I know- that can make them feminists as well.
What I'm trying to say I guess is this: " Feminism is an experiment..." in the words by Rebecca Walker. There is no stereotypical way of doing things or cookie cutter feminist. It's just another kind of supporting equality.
BTW the post title is in reference to Girls just want to have fun
