Thought I would do a theme today- childhood tv shows and stuff. Powerpuff girls, Hello Kitty, School House Rock, and My Little Pony. Also tried to do that perfect blogger half eye face. I think I will go back to smiling, thank you.
Have a magical weekend, readers.

Style Crush: Zoe Schlacter
Zoe Schlacter, of Girl With the Flower blog, is a goddess. Honestly, how else can she justify wearing lipsticks every color of the rainbow, owning countless numbers of flower headbands (I want them all so bad- DIY come to my rescue) and her seriously BRILLIANT sense of color? She justifies it by being a goddess. And she uses her powers well. Always staring the camera straight on with that perfect serious face that looks ticked, but also looks mysterious (I wish I could pull it off-prepare for outfit photos of me looking bugged) Her personality comes through beautifully in her blog and I am amazed that a person can be so talented. Seriously. Talented people are simultaneously great because they are inspiring and everything but also can make me feel like a little rock all dressed up in mismatched clothes compared to their loveliness. Sigh. Still, here are some pictures for you all to drool over. I know I have.
Hope you don't have a RoCKy week, readers.

Simple Pictures are Cool
Does anyone remember that one picture book by Tomie Depaola? Simple Pictures are Best? I remember that book for many reasons. 1. Because it was a childhood book. I always had good books to read when I was little and still do for the most part. 2. When I was going through my mismatched phase in seventh grade (my parents weren't a fan but I thought I looked great)
Anyway, this post isn't about that. This post is about actually simple pictures. I don't know how long ago this collection was ( I honestly cannot keep track of time or designers these days, sheesh) but the first time I ever saw a Jill Sanders ad it was a simple picture. It was so... clean and minimalist yet colorful and eye catching. There wasn't much clogging the picture or the runway so the clothes were a spotlight. Here are some of my favorite aspects of their 2015 thing.
First of all can I say POCKETS? I am so in love with all things that have pockets, not just because I like to look hip and cool (when have I ever been that, though?) but because I'm kind of a pack rat. I like to hide things away, and if I haven't ranted about this yet I will now: girl pockets- why are they so small?? I've seen the pockets of guys at my school- they're huge! I had a friend in band who fit two burritos per pocket when he got hungry during practice. Two burritos! I can barely fit my phone in my pocket! These pockets not only look delightfully deep enough to carry Taco Bell (never mind on that actually, their meat looks like it came out of a caulking gun) but it does really add that extra layer of cool. This whole collection was pretty chill looking with it's simple colors and minimalist silhouette.
I like the solid colors. I like the colors in general. Colors are nice. The palette (let me get all nerdy art student on you now) of cool colors like cobalt, emerald, pale green, white, and even black are all so SPRINGY. I really want spring right now. These colors cheer me up and inspire me for future SPRINGY outfits.
Again with the shoes. Eventually you guys will get tired of me talking about shoes. I know I won't though. I really like the solid colored shoes with the matching socks that actually look like tall 60s style futuristic boots. Very Jetsons. Very retro. Very should be in my closet.
How can something so seemingly normal-ish be so cool and new? So few people decide to take what seems like 'the easy' route, because that path has been taken before. Then they end up with too much and it's too crazy. I love crazy, but I also love simple pictures. The silhouettes, the clean lines, the SPRINGY colors- it's all very refreshing.
Have a hopefully SPRINGY week, readers.

Entirely second-hand outfit today- also no school. This picture is from a weird angle because I usually have Amazon help with pictures but she is off babysitting right now. This is probably my favorite outfit of the moment- it's so vibrant I feel like a slaying beast queen.
Exams are finally over. They honestly aren't as bad as some people kept trying to tell me. I think most things in high school are like that. Everyone on the outside who hasn't been there, or who has forgotten make up these wild fantasies of intense drama, horrifying exams, and all around excitement. They make it scary and romantic and dramatic. The people on the inside (upperclassmen) don't want their boring lives to seem boring, even if they are, so they go along with it "Yeah, high school? It's the worst seriously. You will not make it out alive." It's scary for the freshmen, so when we get here it's actually a big let down. Maybe I did want a high school musical life. I guess not. I just won't go along with the idea that high school is so tough. Middle school- that's tough. I have nothing to judge about the stories that come from there- it's a bad bad place. But high school isn't really.
That's all today.
Have a slaying beast queen-ish week, readers.

I am currently in color love. I will go through my phases of black and white, all black, just neutrals, but away with all of that right now. I am dedicated to color and lots of it. It just makes me happy. Here are some clips of color from some of my magazines.

January 27
The photo is blurry today. it was cold out and I had to take the picture myself. I will call it artistically blurry, and we'll settle on that. How are you guys? I'm doing pretty good, today was my history exam. Bean is watching Wonder Pets in the background. I now have the instinct to start singing the theme song whenever a phone goes off.

Slice of Life: No Ideas Pie
Uhhghghg. It's the first day of exams, readers. My brain is too tired for a legit post title. uggghhgh.
The one cool part of exam week is that there are some half days, and in the time I finish my exam there is leftover time for me to read during. I have missed just having time to read. I used to never stop when I was in middle and elementary school, but now I just don't do it as much. I love the idea of reading that you can so well get to know an author or character through their art. You can tell that an author has a favorite genre or character. You can tell they like short choppy sentences or not, and if they see the best or worst in humans. It's the same with music, art, or pretty much any other created thing. We listen to music because we identify with or agree with the vision and opinions of the musician. I like getting to know writers and artists through their blogs and the work they create. That's why creation is so personal and why it's so important to do it for yourself, not for the public or for money. Money would be appreciated, sure, but it's not the driving force behind the best creators out there
Still not working at my usual level, guys.
