Slice of Pie: Road Pie
I always bring my camera on car rides. I've always like being in cars, despite the fact that they are more dangerous than any other vehicle. They are cozy. They are reasonably comfortable. They are the only thing I can sleep in besides my bed. Also whenever my family goes on a long car ride it is always early in the morning, or in the evening. The two best times of day for photography. When I have my iPod and camera, and there is a setting sun over the pine trees and various Coney Islands (restaurant) of Michigan, things seem pretty good. You would like car rides in that situation too.

My hair has been uncontrollable lately, as you can see by the picture. It's at that point where it is too long to be a pixie, but not long enough to be a bob. Oh well. This shirt reminds me of the 2015 LDS youth theme “Therefore, O ye that embark in the service of God, see that ye serve
him with all your heart, might, mind and strength, that ye may stand
blameless before God at the last day” (D&C 4:2). There were pictures of anchors all over posters and necklaces and all sorts of little things for the 'embark' part. I liked it. This year is “Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having
a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men.
Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ,
and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have
eternal life” (2 Nephi 31:20). That means little arrows and cutesy little things like that for the 'press forward' part. I really like this year's scripture because of that. I have a bad habit of being lazy, and when I'm lazy I'm miserable. I need to press forward. I need to press forward with a steadfastness in Christ.

Hello from the other siiiiiiiiiiiiiiide
Forgive the title, friends. I am in a foreign land.
Foreign, not really. Amazon, Bean, and I are chilling at our aunt and uncle's house in a suburb of Detroit at the moment. Our parents are out of town for a conference that our mom is going to for school stuff. We were originally going to have one of our cousins come watch us, but then the weather got crazy (like, seriously cray-cray) and we didn't want her driving down. So here we are. Here I am. On my aunt's laptop feeling embarrassed to be asking to blog, but at the same time feeling justified in my mission. Yes, I consider this my mission.
For me I am most happy when doing something. When I have a project or a goal or a new obsession. It usually takes up most of my thoughts and becomes annoying to outsiders (ugh, outsiders) but that's when I feel my best. Prism is my baby because, like mothers with babies, it makes me happy but is a nice nuisance, sometimes is incredibly successful and at other times a lovable disappointment But I still like working on it. I don't have to search for new projects and ideas, I have this thing that I can return to, feel obligated to return to, everyday for inspiration and rejuvenation creatively.
Maybe this need to do things just makes me a busy-body and will eventually ruin me in the end when I can't learn to chill. Maybe.
Oh well. Chill, readers. Chill and prosper.

Style Crush: Susie Lau
Susie Lau of the fab blog Style Bubble is my new obsession. Her smart sounding writing style and her observations on style and fashion are just... great (I'm running out of decent words- more need to be invented) Seriously, I could look at pictures of her quirky cute outfits and her signature bangs and top knot/ or straight hair all. day. I'm inspired by her confidence and guts to wear multiple tulle dresses at once, over jeans (so early-2000s in a good way) and fun color combinations. She has the closet that I have, but the guts to make something so incredibly unique. I have the means to do it, but not the same way of owning it that she does. She is what I aspire to stylistically right now. Beware, I may start to try channeling her.
Maybe I don't have all her closet. That was a bit of a hyperbole.
But seriously, they should be in my closet.

SNOW DAY! This means no actual legit good looking outfit, so it does mean the outfit photo is of my bracelets. Two out of four of those are hand-made, the one on the top and the one on the bottom. That bracelet is from my grandma and it doesn't actually work but I love it because it reminds me of her and the things she liked- the color purple, flowers, the fourth of July, and buying her grand kids things. She was cool.
Jewelry I have made recently
I started making jewelry around 2013/2012 when my mum bought a bunch of beads and wire off the internet and wanted me to use them. I was hooked. I still do it, not as intensely as then, but I do enjoy it. I've learned how to make things of higher quality that won't fall apart after the first wear, but it's still very homemade looking.
I like statement bracelets you could say.
I don't apologize for my puns, readers.

Slice of Life
Today is the day, friends.
Audition day.
Audition day is a day both savored and despised. Anticipated with joy and fear. Followed by happiness and failure.
So that's pretty much how I'm doing right now. Things are busy, I barely have enough time to squeeze this post in- I have to walk Roxie, go to auditions, and then have my first band concert as french horn! That's pretty exciting- I'm a tad nervous about that as well- there is this one part in the song where the french horns are all alone, and we have to play a long high pitched note and it makes me want to cry every so often. I hope I don't mess it up. Please keep my performance and audition in your thoughts, prayers, chants, rituals, storage closets, and in the kitchen in case it's hungry.
seriously guys.

Style Crush: Halsey
To be completely honest, I don't listen to much of Halsey's music. I like 'Colors', and I have friends who like her art but I'm not a super fan. I don't approve of the cigarette in some of these pics (DON"T SMOKE IT"S A JOKE- no I wasn't paid to say that) but that's her thing. HER HAIR AND HER CLOTHES THOUGH. I really like her personal style- it's kind of like Grimes with her multi-colored hair and cool stage-outfits. It's like a mixture of casualty, edginess, and some undefinable quirkiness that has been common in female singers lately. I'm not complaining- I think it's great and aspire to that level of unnameable weirdness.
