The Artist

The Artist

This is an incredibly idealized version of my staple mural painting outfit during eighth grade. Plus, you know, Monet paintings, cactus plants, and cool hats I wasn't allowed to wear. The uniform was: crappy/ironic t-shirt, shorts, converse/whatever shoes I hated, friendship bracelet. Also paint. Paint everywhere. The paint we used for the mural smelled awful, but oh my goodness, there are few things on this planet that feel as good as paint on your skin. Not only did it make us look official, it made the water in the sink after we washed our hands this muddied multi-colored swamp. A hard day's work. That mural is still unfinished- I never got to do all of it while I was there, and the art teacher barely encourages her student's to finish it. The whole idea of the mural was that it was an abstract painting of earth and space with these big cheesy stars that had the middle school's character values on them. There is one character value left. If it is diligence or patience, I'm going to go there myself and paint it.
Diligence, people. Diligence.
