Yeah, that's the other thing- there is another snow day today.
I guess it could do with the way my bedroom is arranged. My bed is right by my window- I'm really lucky and have the biggest bedroom window in the house. I like to leave the blinds up and the lights off so I can watch the cars go by, and how bright the moon is, and how blurry all the lights and moon and stars are without my glasses. As a result of this wonder at nighttime, I end up waking up with the sunrise.
'Early to bed, early to rise' though, right? The thing is I'm not really early to bed either. I was up fairly late last night working on the first edition of PRISM: THE ZINE. Prism was going to originally be a zine, but I was trying to make it too complicated. No technology on this one, no sir. Purely collage, drawings, writings with a PEN, and whatever stickers I can find. I will upload pictures soon.
I took a zine-making class when I was 9 or so. Back at the old college where my dad worked they hosted summer camps for kids 6-16 for a camp themed towards their choosing. I was doing a painting main course, and had a few little classes on the side including this 'intro to zines' class. It was one of the smallest classes- only four other people besides me. The teacher was friendly and he showed us a few cool examples of zines and comics he and friends had made, and then set us loose. I don't know where mine went, I probably threw it away, but I still remember how fun it was.
So that is the birth of a new project to occupy the time that I'm not spending blogging, doing homework, or whatever else I do.
