Super Girls

I'm supposing some of you have seen the latest Teen Vogue. I'm supposing some of you have not, so let me fill you in. February's issue was the Power Girls: New Faces of Feminism. Oh my goodness. It makes me incredibly happy that all these girls are awakening, much in the way I have been, to who they are and figuring out that they want to do something about it to help others. Artists, performers, writers, religious girls, social media ladies, makeup queens, and a plethora of other women just coming together and collectively making something really cool. Something to be heard and noticed. Something to really make a difference.
Amandla Stenberg Dazed Fall 2015 Cover Photoshoot03: Gap styling by bloggers...I want her Apartment!!: Row:
I was sitting on my bed, drooling over pictures of Amandla Stenberg, Rowan Blanchard, and Tennessee Thomas (the way you do) and I was thinking about how I wished that my friends and I could share a message in the way they could. These girls are famous, me and my squad are not ( at least as far as I know, what secrets could they be hiding from me?) But then I remembered: no one has always been famous. These women have earned their recognition because they got off their butts and did something (something I could learn to do better) They didn't do it with fame in mind, that just sort of happened. Celebrity is a side effect of cool deeds. In some cases. Not everyone needs to see what you do to justify it being great. I run my little blog thing here to share my opinion on clothes, life, and to speak up about things I'm often too shy to say aloud. Not many people read this, but I've realized two things about that: the people that do read this are smart and kind people who when they reach out to me come across as super ladies and gentlemen already. Second, I'm not writing it for the world. This is me trying to live up to, even if in a small fraction, to that beautiful generation of super ladies I have to look to for inspiration. Tavi Gevinson, Emma Watson, and women in my community like my church leaders, grandmas, and my mom- all are real life superheroes trying to help you be your best you. I  want to inspire girls to like themselves and help others the way they did for me. I want all of my readers to get out there, support your local girl gangs (or start your own), understand how you being you is, and can put your own message into the world. Regardless of how many magazines you have been featured or not featured in, I know you have the best voice for your cause.
Hope you have a SUPER week, readers.
didja see what I did there...
