Our local comic shop, Collector's Corner always supplies cute little obscure comics that I LOVE and this is my latest discovery: Lumberjanes! It's a kid-friendly (Bean loves them) series about a dangerous c amp for girls where they learn maybe not so necessary skills about how to defeat the supernatural instead of how to put up a tent. It follows a particular group of goofy and diverse girls. It's funny, pop culture laden, and very well drawn. It has a very indie simple-ish drawing style and a good story. Though at my summer camp we didn't have to brave packs of speaking wolves or mind-control, the spirit of camp and the sister hood of a cabin is sweet and makes it all the better. The full book of all the issues is actually in stores- though I'm still waiting for Collector's Corner to deliver it to me (It's been weeks. Weeks!)
