Heavens I haven't written in a long time! I'm sorry readers, I was on vacation for a couple weeks, and the weeks before that I was just being a lazy butt. However! I am back! I spent two weeks in Idaho where I was born. My family and I stayed at a cabin with family and toured the areas from the beginning of our family. It was absolutely wonderful to see childhood spots in Boise that I remember and new things.
OLD THINGS I REMEMBER
1. The Old Train Depot- I lovingly referred to it as "The Teepoh" I would sit in front of the gardens and the koi pond for HOURS if allowed
2. The first place I ever lived-an old apartment by Boise state.
3. My first house- my dad and grandpa put up a fence around it. It seemed much taller back then.
FAVORITE NEW THINGS
1. The Boise Art Museum (BAM)- Absolutely inspiring stuff! I loved the "Language of Light" exhibit by Richard C. Elliott
2. The Anne Frank Memorial- for those who don't know, Anne Frank is my personal hero, and this human rights awareness memorial was amazing
3. BIG JUDS- I've been to a Big Juds restaurant before just not the one in Boise. FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT TRIED-TRY IT FOOLS
I love Idaho. I love the west. Though I am happy and content in Michigan I feel most at home in Idaho. I like seeing the purple silhouettes of mountains forever in the distance. I like the fact that it's okay to walk into church wearing cowboy boots and a bolo tie-not because your a hipster but because that's what people wear. I like fry sauce (Dear Michigan, why is this not a thing here?). I like the air to feel like air and not water (only Michigangsters know what I'm talking about here.) It was good to go back for a couple weeks. Even if it was the two hottest weeks of the summer over there. Eighty degrees seems tame now.
It's good to be back!
