Otaku Fate

Howdy friends! Sorry I haven't done a post in a while. I have managed to make myself horribly sick within the first week of school. Now I sound (and look) like a corpse (what do corpses sound like? Me.) and barely struggled through picture day-bleh.
Anyway, to pass the time, I finished another manga that I have been really into lately;
BEAUTY POP
Am I an otaku? Yes. Why didn't you know this? Beats me. This is the third manga that I've really gotten into (1. Fruits Basket- quite possibly the most perfect series ever and 2. Sailor Moon- it was good but also kind of meh) and I will let you know: I WAS VERY SATISFIED.
While starting out the series, from books 1-6, it's pretty frustrating because the characters seem pretty static and unchanging. Narumi ( the blonde dude)is always mad at Kiri ( the blonde girl). Kiri doesn't care and makes Narumi mad. Ochiai (dude with glasses) likes Kiri. Does Narumi like Kiri? We want him to, but he's always mad at her.

I was very frustrated with this, because it seemed like everything I wanted to happen was never going to happen (more time with Shampoo the cat, less  time with Ochiai-ugh- More Kirumi (Kiri X Narumi) cuteness...) Then I ended up checking out books 7-10 and BOY. WAS. I.
SATISFIED.
I've decided to organize my normal reaction to ending a series I liked with images from Beauty Pop. Here they are:
1. Shock- Right after you close the book. Right after you know how it ends. Right after you realize things will never be the same. You haven't fully processed that it's over yet. It's not over yet. It can't be, right? It CAN'T BE. RIGHT. This stage has the weirdest time span; it can be seconds or days before it ends and it finally hits you.

2. Temporary Death- This is when it hits you. You realize that you will never have the blissful quest for the end anymore; it's over. This is the most violent stage. It includes book throwing and yelling despite the fact that your voice isn't working.

3. Mourning- the final stage before acceptance. You are sad. Very sad. You loved this series and now there is no more of it. It's still there, of course, but not in the same way. This is a hard hard phase, but just remember...
There are always more manga out there.
And there is also rereading the same series fifty times. That works too.
