Art Inspirations: Arthur Rackham

In the early 1900s' a popular art subject was fantasy and book illustration. I can't tell you how much I love the illustrations in classic Grimm fairy tales and other things from the turn of the century. One particular artist that my dad told me that I would like is Arthur Rackham whose art style makes me cry just a little bit. It's so detailed! It's so realistic! It's so....I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT I LOVE IT!

  1. OH MY GOODNESS. I loooooove Arthur Rackham! One of my favorite illustrators ever. If you like him you should also check out Edmund Dulac, N. C. Wyeth, Christian Birmingham, John William Waterhouse, and Emma Florence Harrison. And can't forget Jessie Wilcox Smith and Pauline Baynes! Actually I'm going to stop right now (even though I could go on for FIVE ZILLION YEARS because I love illustrators so much aaaahhhh)
