You're just going to have to mix and match

Reasons for this: I've been in to mixing it up with different things. A collage aesthetic/ life where everything from everywhere is all mixed up. I remember for a really long time being super confused about who I was because wasn't everyone supposed to have 'their thing'? Wasn't everybody something specific? Was I 'the nerd' or

the girly-girl'? Was I either? Not really. Now I guess, I'm more into mixing everything I like. It just makes things easier. I like 60s music, but also what my friends' refer to as 'sad dubstep'. I enjoy dressing kind of weird and out there, but there is also much to be said for a classic button up and cardigan. There is something much more personalized about an unnameable thing. Or something that is named after it's creator because there is nothing like it besides what they have made. So you're just going to have to mix and match your life, readers.

Bean decided to join this picture. What a photogenic little child. I should include her in all my pictures- she makes me look goooooood.
Another plan for spring break: I'm a person who lives on goals and projects. My new project is to learn an official song on piano. I know the basicest basics of piano (translation- can read music/play a note) so I will teach myself a song. My friend got me a book of piano/flute/vocal/guitar music for Christmas of rare old rock songs, so I found a cool easy so to play!
LONELY TEENAGER! It is actually a perfect song- oldish, fun, kind of sad in a good way, and REALLY EASY TO PLAY! Wish me luck, friends as I drive my family insane with the same song again and again!

March 26

This is one of the bags I got at Salvation Army today- that little oval in the center has a Pegasus imprint on it. It's wonderful. I also surprised Amazon with a talking wall fish on a plague. I'm a good sister sometimes. I can hear it now, singing 'Don't worry, be happy'. Yep, I'm a proud sister.
Don't worry, readers. Be happy

Tunes for tripping

It's semi-early. Early than I usually wake up for blog posts- I like waking up in the mornings to type. It's peaceful. I get things done. Anyway, I'm going to Salvation Army with Nadia and Morgan soon; I'm just waiting to be picked up. Here are some tunes I'm thinking will be our theme song. I'm really digging them (that's a word right? I totally want that to be my new word)
1. Lost It To Trying- Son Lux
2. Sweet Ophelia- Zella Day
3. Swinging Party- Lorde
4. Oblivion- Grimes
5. I Am Not A Robot- Marina & The Diamonds
6. Seven Devils- Florence + The Machine
7. Patron Saint- Regina Spektor

March 25

Today is garbage day (not really) so I will dress as such. Along with my Anne Frank book. Oh my goodness, she is amazing I can't even start...
Also my nail polish is dark purple, not black. I'm not that emo yet.

Slice of Life: Spring pie

My lovably ugly nerd loafers that I want to wear everywhere
It's spring break now, friends! I'm not really going to be going out of town, so don't worry- I will always be here to whisper to you through words you maybe don't want to here. That's just what I will do for you.
Since I'm not going anywhere, this is my plan for my days of freedom:
1. Read- Anything I can find in the house. I've already finished the books I got from the library (100 years of Fashion Illustration and Serendipity's Footsteps) so I will just hole away into my favorite gray bucket chair and read my hours away.
2. Blog- okay, duh. You guys are life. liiiiiiiife.
3. Not go outside- Of course, on the day before break starts, we get this huge snowstorm thing that gives us another snow day to suffer in while we should be out smelling flowers that are probably dead now. Thanks, nature. I know you've always got my back for a good time.
4. Working on Personal Progress- personal progress is a program-thingy that happens through the Young Womens program at my church. You do guided service projects, self improvement stuff, and learning stuff. It's pretty cool, and for one of my projects I'm making posters of all the Young Women values: faith, divine nature, individual worth, knowledge, choice & accountability, good works, integrity, and virtue. I'm going to theme the posters by decades. 1920s art deco, 1940s WW2 propaganda, 1960s rock and roll posters, etc. I'm pretty excited to start. I'll upload pictures when I finish.
So that's my plan. Here is some inspiration for my spring break uniform.

The Artist

The Artist

This is an incredibly idealized version of my staple mural painting outfit during eighth grade. Plus, you know, Monet paintings, cactus plants, and cool hats I wasn't allowed to wear. The uniform was: crappy/ironic t-shirt, shorts, converse/whatever shoes I hated, friendship bracelet. Also paint. Paint everywhere. The paint we used for the mural smelled awful, but oh my goodness, there are few things on this planet that feel as good as paint on your skin. Not only did it make us look official, it made the water in the sink after we washed our hands this muddied multi-colored swamp. A hard day's work. That mural is still unfinished- I never got to do all of it while I was there, and the art teacher barely encourages her student's to finish it. The whole idea of the mural was that it was an abstract painting of earth and space with these big cheesy stars that had the middle school's character values on them. There is one character value left. If it is diligence or patience, I'm going to go there myself and paint it.
Diligence, people. Diligence.
