We'll meet again

It's been a while. A while. The context of ' a while' is a little weird though- remember when 'a while' meant a  month or maybe two? Things have changed. That's another thing that might change- the frequency of posts to come up. Is Prism becoming worse? Is it declining? Meh. I don't like to think about that. Anyway, the next few posts will be completely dedicated to the Detroit trip to the Night Vale show- OH MY WORD I was so intensely excited I may have made myself a little sick on the ride over. Here are some pictures from the ride over: This is Emma and Amazon:

Perfect moment to take a picture, right? I'm sorry

Things we like: The DoubleClicks

Here we go: a female girl band. Done. A self love message. Done. Songs about memes and fandoms'? Done. They are The DoubleClicks, the kick-butt girl power sister band who sing about Clever Girl memes, Agent Coulson (of the Marvel universe) and combine the music of 'Uptown Funk' and 'Ghostbusters' Yes, people. That's a thing. Here is the abridged version of all the things I love about them:
1. They've got nothing to prove.
That's a reference, by the way, to the song "Nothing to Prove". This is supporting the idea that fandoms don't have rules to who is in or out, based on your gender, knowledge, ships, theories, or how good your fanart is. You don't need cred to love something. As their lines say "I've got cred but honestly I shouldn't need it" I've been quizzed on my nerd knowledge just because I'm a girl and I love the line "Our club has no bouncers, all who want in get in. But go ahead if you want to fulfill that role fully, I ain't got nothing to prove to a bully" Beauty. Pure beauty.

The Nerdy Lyrics-
They do totally ridiculous songs too that just make you want to cry with joy like "Lasers and Feelings' or 'Cats and Netflix' (yes, both express your love of supervillains, tv, cats, and other things we do when not internetting) Besides these 'nerdy lifestyle' songs, they  have full on reference songs like 'Super To Me (Agent Coulson)' or 'Ghostbusters'. Another way they address their demographic: They know what we want and we want

 They are still human-
There are musicians who, bless their hearts, are not super real. Grimes, I love you to death (DEAATTH) but she is almost too beautiful, too bizarre, and too talented. The Doubleclicks seem more real, they aren't models (though they are GORGEOUS), they don't have monumental singing abilities, and they are relatively unknown still (we must change this) This is good. I like real personal artists that I feel I know to some extent. I feel these girls are kindred spirits.
It's Prism's mascot

April 4

You know how you have those friends on facebook who just post endless pictures of their adorable cat or dog? I feel like I have reached that level, but it's a fish, not a lovable furry animal, and if I tried to take a legit selfie with Billy, either I would drown or he would die so. Hmm. Maybe not quite the same. You know you all love him though. He's Prism's mascot.
My day has been pretty quiet. It's the first day back from break, and I'm pretty sure all of my teachers are just as unimpressed with being here that I am. One of them (science class) didn't even show up so we got a sub. I have been devoting my time whilst not doing homework (nggg.) or blogging to catching up on fandoms I have been missing out on, such as the extra Sherlock episodes, MLP episodes, extra Harry Potter books, (FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM PEOPLE) and whatever you would call Hamilton or Gravity Falls fans.
By the way, people, this is how it works:
Harry Potter Fans: Potterites or PotterHeads
Doctor Who Fans- 1. People who have watched since eleven's season: Wholigans
                               2. People who have watched from nine or one's season: Whovians
Sherlock Fans- 1.Read the books/seen the show: Sherlockians
                         2. Only watched the show- Holmies
Gravity Falls- 1. Fans of the Pines twins/the theorists- Pine Nuts
                        2. General Fans- Fallers
Marvel fans- Marvelites
DC fans- Either Batgirls or Men
Night Vale fans- 1. People not caught up/ casual listeners-NightValeans
                           2. Intense listeners/The theorists- Hooded Figures
If you have any others, let me know readers!

Things we like: World of Geekcraft

This book. This book is the bridge. The bridge between the worlds of geekery (a special intense geekery) and the crafting dimension. Dripping with pop-culture references for nearly every fandom and how-to's for them as well, this book is for what I call the maker-nerds. Those nerds who put every inch of their soul into their cosplay game, who spend time making a cardboard TARDIS, who paint their own personalized My Little Pony characters. Maker-nerds, this book is for you.
I wish I had found this blessed book in seventh grade- that was my intense 'crafting era'. That era was covered in yarn, glue, cardboard, craft paper, and glitter. I was essentially Mable from Gravity Falls.

Even if you don't craft, check out this book. It's got plenty of easy little things in it like making toddler Harry Potter costumes and iPhone elements cozies that will be the perfect gateway drug to full on needle felting, knitting, and collaging. You will see.

April 2

My first outfit photo in a while. Wearing flannel- pretty much all I want to wear anymore. All the snow is melted- as you can tell from the background. I am edgy around what I wear right now. I'm in the mood where not only the clothes need to be cozy, they need to be ugly. Meh. Maybe it's a phase.
I'm planning this Saturday to be an artsy-fartsy day of painting, drawing, collaging, bleh, bleh, ,bleh in between sessions of general conference. I usually do notes in my journal from the talks and doodle in the borders. Maybe I'll upload some pictures of those?
Here is some inspiration I have for it.
Actually, never mind. It just started snowing again.
