I've been thinking about this color...
I didn't want to do another 'Think Pink' post.
This post was going to be modeled by me, but I wasn't in the mood. It was going to be modeled by Amazon, but she had play rehearsal (Did I mention she is in her middle school's production of Bye Bye Birdie? She's Mrs.Peterson) So who else? My dear little Bean of course. She was actually very enthusiastic about this until toward the end when I had to bribe her with snacks to pose for me. I should just use her as a model all the time- she's a heck of a lot more photogenic than me. If only she wore my clothes size.

Classic is cool
MARC JACOBS- my king, oh my king. You have done it yet again- made something fabulous. I'm talking Spring/Summer 2016 readers- oh my. Sometimes I feel like I'm too much of a yes-person on my blog (liking everything I see) but I find justification in that with stuff like this.
This collection is what I call in my mind- the bizarre prepster. All American themed colors, varsity jackets, plaid- all these classic items make their way into the look- but it's all slightly (or violently- in a mostly good way) off putting. The distorted high-school prints. The messy hair on the models. The bedazzled denim jackets. It all seems like it is quietly mocking the preppy collegiate look's stereotype. It's a look that I aspire to- something that is put together-ish (I'm living a lie if I look like that) but is still original and kinda' weird.
By the way sorry the title is dumb. Here are some highlights.
The Sweaters- I'm talking about the oversized ones with the messed up school logos on them. They not only look cozy in that way that all sweaters do, it's something different. I have a lot of school spirit, but I'm not a fan of the same hoodie everyone else has with the highschool logo on it. I wear one from the eighties that a friend gave to me that no one else has. I know that's annoying sounding, but that's just what these remind me of. They have a punk hand made look to them- like some odd little rebel decided they wanted to directly disobey the crowd so they chopped up then resewed their old varsity sweater.

The jackets- I'm a jacket person. An outfit or a look just doesn't seem complete to me unless it has a jacket or sweater over it. This is partially because I'm cold-blooded and cannot retain body heat, but it also adds a more professional (??) more thought out side to what is being worn. It can add to it, or be the focal point. I do love a cool gang jacket. These jackets also remind me of that crazy little punk in my mind who tells me to spike my hair- they are traditional looking varsity jackets but with pins and buttons and badges. Super punk rock, guys.

The beauty aspect- I really liked the look the models had going for them here. These models had a rebellious look in their blue liner rimmed eye. The messy hair (did I mention that I love messed up hair?) adds to the look of something classic that has been changed in a way that we don't know is for better or for worse. The blue eyeshadow is reminiscent of a look Barbie has flaunted, adding to the 50s collegiate look here that has gone so wrong. Wonderfully wrong.

February 3
Hey guys! Weh, I feel like my outfit photos are decreasing in quality. I will have to change that. Another completely thrifted outfit- and there is no meaning behind my Switzerland shirt. It's just cool. And to quote that joke that circulated around on Facebook like three years ago, the flag is a big plus. Sorry guys, I'm kind of in a hurry. The dance portion of auditions for Beauty and the Beast start today- I'm pretty nervous. This ain't my first rodeo, but it's one of my biggest and scariest. The other musicals I have been in were smaller, and I got in because of a combination of lack of auditions, and I was an eighth grader- therefore superior in my eyes. I hope it goes well. I hope I have something to do. As much as I put pretty much all of my time into Prism, there is only so much I can do sometimes. I hope I can still make time for you guys (of course I will) if I get in. Wish me lucks, friends
Good lucks in the rodeos of life, readers.

Knick-knacks, pets, and knick-knacks I consider pets
This post is dedicated to all of my pack-rattish tendencies, all my little trinkets and thingies, and to my collections of crap over all the years. I don't know why I keep things. It's not like I have some reason for it- like when I was young I didn't have anything, so now I must keep everything. Naw. I just like little things and I like displaying my little things. Here are a few little things.
Vader is a cooler name anyway (who gets that reference) readers.
My bamboo that I have not named yet. I'm thinking Bingo. What do you guys think? |
My little Buddha figurine from my dad, my turquoise, (birthstone) acorns and rocks I have collected, and my kitty cat toy |
My various stuffed animals. Believe me, I have more. |
My Darth Vader action figure. It took so long to pose him like this, you don't even know. He looked cool in the end. |
February 1
My hands are propped up on my knees by the way. I showed the picture to Amazon and she couldn't realize what my arms were on besides being awkwardly suspended in air. No. Looking wistful and sad today. It's February. I hate Februarys'. A lot. There are no worthy holidays, it's wet and snowy, everything is icy and gray. Ew. Today was pretty nice though. Sunny and somewhat warm- covered in ice and treacherous, but sun shiney. I walk a lady in our church's dog, and let me tell you: It is. Exciting. To be a dog. in Spring. While on a walk. That dawg. Was so excited- she was skittering around on the ice, sniffing everything, she was so happy. She's fun to walk with. I was being affected by the weather too, it was so SPRINGY I just wanted to skip. Not skip like ditch school, but skip like joyful form of walking. Skipping in SPRING.
Have fun skipping, readers.
