Style analysis: Minimalist tomboy

A look that I'm really into right now is a more classic minimalist one. Usually I have at least a few bracelets on, a necklace, and earrings. Maybe a headband. Now I've been leaning toward less of that and instead just letting the outfit do it's thing without over doing it. The Minimalist Tomboy look is a little androgynous, but I like to make it more feminine for fear of looking like a dude with my short hair and slim body shape. Some cool chicks who are already rocking this style are Ellen Degeneres, Agyness Deyn, and Patti Smith.

All that glitters is gold

One of my favorite metals to wear is gold in all its glory. Silver is fine and I like it. Black metal is cool. Gold jewelry just seems so glamorous to me- especially yellow and rose gold. I am having a hard time getting my hands on a solid gold dress so here are some of my favorite shiny accesories.

1. This is my go-to pair of earrings. It's a glittery set of unicorn studs that I got for 4 dollars at the local resale shop. Having short hair is good in this case- everyone can see the happy little unicorns hanging from my head!

2. I usually bring this clutch/purse with me to stake dances. My best friend and I essentially worship it and simply refer to it as 'The Happy Purse.'

3. I found these rings at Claire's. i have a seriously hard time finding rings that fit my skeletal fingers. These rings ACTUALLY fit so I got them instantly.

4. This is actually Amazon's head band in the lovely shape of a prism. Still uber sparkly and glam.

5. I honestly don't know if I own ANYTHING that isn't second hand. Is that a bad thing? Is that weird This bracelet is a bit big for me- but look at it! It's so shiny! I can't resist it much more than I can keep it on my wrist!

We were born in the wrong decade

Amazon and I did this fifties themed photo shoot this afternoon. We had a lot of fun despite the cold and it was cool to see the looks on people's faces as we strolled down the street to the location. There are a LOT of photos- prepare yourself.

CoMiCoNN At Grand RAPids

WE WENT TO COMICON IN GRAND RAPIDS AND HEAVENS TO BETSEY... it was great. I got asked by TWO people for my picture- I have never felt loved like that before. I asked about twenty other people for pictures- I will include those. At one point (the high point) I was resting on the ground outside the convention ( Why are there no chairs? What the heck?) when I looked up... and saw her. I saw a  girl dressed as Kevin- my character's double- pointing at me, her friends laughing. I pointed to my camera, and we got a picture. Oh, it was perfect. Bean and Amazon got tired of it all around the fourth row, but I was on an adrenaline rush literally till we got back to the hotel where I crashed and watched Full House for an hour to recover. Here are a few of my favorite cosplay pics.
